Inspired by Andrea Mowry’s Nurtured Sweater, Hawthorn Ridge is a beautifully textured hat offered in two different fits to suit your style needs. Choose the beanie for a fitted look or the slouchy for a more relaxed fit. The stitch pattern is simple and meditative but creates a dynamic paneled look. Made with a merino & silk blend hand dyed yarn by Julie Asselin, your hat is bound to get a second look.
Sizes:
The hat is offered in one size that will fit the average adult head of 21-23”. The twisted rib brim does give the brim a lot of stretch to fit a variety of sizes. To make a larger fit, it is suggested to go up a needle size for the hat brim.
Gauge:
4” x 4” = 22 stitches x 48 rounds (beanie) in established pattern.
4” x 4” = 20 stitches x 44 rounds (slouchy) in established pattern.
Recommended Needles:
US 6 | 4mm – 16” circular
US 7 | 4.5mm – 16” circular (or longer cable) & double pointed needles
US 8 | 5mm – 16” circular (or longer cable) & double pointed needles
Recommended Yarn:
Leizu Worsted by Julie Asselin - or similar yarn to achieve gauge
Approximate yardage: 120 yards (beanie), 165 yards (slouchy)
